Educating for the Lived Gospel #233

He will regard the prayer of the destitute,

and will not despise their prayer. (Ps 102:17)

We know of the world’s injustice. We have faith that God is at work to bring about a community where everyone is cared for. Caring for those in need is a central focus of the Christian/Catholic faith. So our actions help to answer ‘the prayer of the destitute’ and bring about the community where everyone is cared for – the reign of God.

We can be inclined to think of prayer as solely personal – and God will answer my prayer ‘if I have been good’. Instead, by being good through caring for those in need, we live our faith and answer their prayer. Pretty cool, huh?

Have a great week!
Patrick
